Common Behavioral Biases – Business Insider

Common Behavioral Biases – Business Insider. (Ilustrirano!)

Every decision we make is influenced by subconscious behavioral biases.

They cause us to make snap judgments based on bad information, to be unfair and to waste time. This is clearly problematic for investors, managers and people in general. Once we become aware of these biases, we can disrupt our thinking and come to terms with reality.

The TED Community Experiment on Intercultural Coordination – YouTube

Schellingova knjiga Strategy of Conflict nalazi se znate-već-gdje…

The Research Bust – The Chronicle Review

Yes, research is an intellectual good, and yes, we shouldn’t reduce our measures to bean counting. But we can no longer ignore the costs of supporting research—financial costs (salaries, sabbaticals, grants, travel; the cost to libraries to buy and store material, to scholarly presses to evaluate, produce, and market it; and to peers to review it), opportunity costs… The Research Bust – The Chronicle Review – The Chronicle of Higher Education.

O Rodin-Kurelićevih 10 teza za reformu visokog obrazovanja – banka.hr

U časopisu Banka objavljen je moj tekst o Rodin-Kurelićevom prijedlogu reforme visokog školstva:

O Rodin-Kurelićevih 10 teza za reformu visokog obrazovanja – banka.hr.

Darth Vader Claims Land Plot In Ukraine

Darth Vader Claims Land Plot In Ukraine. 🙂 na linku je i video:

Reuters reports that the dark side enthusiast visited the mayor’s office in Odessa this week citing new (and controversial) legislation that allows each Ukrainian citizen the right to own 1,000 square-meters of land along the Black Sea post. When stopped by police he had the following to say:

“I am Darth Vader, the right hand of Emperor Palpatine…”

“…Knowing that many deputies and the mayor have switched to the dark side… I have come for a land plot… for my space cruiser.”

His application is currently being considered.

BI: There Isn’t A Single Politician In Italy’s New Government

Demokracija bez političara? There Isn’t A Single Politician In Italy’s New Government.

Duhovit i potpuno otkačen članak o demokraciji bez političara i s namjesničkim vladama napisao je inače u ovotjednom Globusu Željko Kardum.

No dobro, ti namjesnici moraju dobiti i potporu parlamenta, ili?

Viši porezi? Da, ali ne meni! – Reason-Rupe Surveys : Reason Magazine

Results from the Reason-Rupe poll actually demonstrate a willingness by a majority of Americans to increase taxes on the “wealthy.” However these preferences depend greatly on how one defines wealthy. The poll asked the standard question “Do you think the federal government should increase taxes on the wealthy,” with 69 percent in favor and 28 percent opposed. However, respondents in favor were then asked what household income they would use to define someone who is wealthy and should therefore pay higher taxes. Respondents consistently listed incomes that were above their own, even high-income respondents, suggesting that people may want to raise taxes, but just not on themselves.

The justification for several rounds of stimulus spending, as President Obama explains it, is to boost hiring and provide a “jolt” to the stalled economy. However, a recent IPSOS Public Affairs poll finds that a clear majority of Americans are not convinced these stimulus policies have had a positive or meaningful impact on the economy. Rather, 62 percent believe that the stimulus bills Congress has approved in recent years have resulted in greater debt, compared to 28 percent who believe they have helped the economy. College Tuition, Student Loans, and Unemployment : The New Yorker

James Surowiecki: Today Americans owe well over six hundred billion dollars in college debt.
